WHY WOMEN

Women make up an overwhelming minority in the aerospace industry, whether as astronauts or executives.

  • Of the 566 people who have traveled to space, only 65 (~11.5%) were women.

  • Only 24% of aerospace employees are women (Aviation Week study).

  • Women make up only about 1/3 of NASA’s workforce and 28% percent of senior leadership positions. Women are only 16% of senior scientific employees (NASA survey).

Our goal is to change these statistics.

Just a few of the women who have influenced the space industry.

"Human spaceflight cannot develop any further without the active participation of women."
